How he started
DJ Jarbo is a professional DJ and music enthusiast based in Michigan, USA. He started his journey in 2010, right after graduating high school, when he bought his first set of turntables and laptop. Since then, he has been passionate about music and the chemistry behind it. He has been throwing events and parties since his early teens, which has helped him gain experience and knowledge in the field.
Where he's going
DJ Jarbo has been in the industry for over a decade now and has gained a lot of experience and knowledge. He specializes in various genres of music such as house, hip hop, RnB, throwbacks, Spanish, Arabic, Albanian, Afrobeats, EDM, etc. He has been through and used a ton of different equipment from controllers to CDJs to turntables. His current setup is a Rane 12 turntable with a Rane Seventy-Two mixer, along with a Rane Four controller as his backup set for certain events where it’s needed. He has used a MacBook Pro since 2010 and usually upgrades it every 5 years. He plays on Serato DJ. DJ Jarbo has performed at various events and parties, and his passion for music continues to grow. He is always looking for new ways to improve his skills and knowledge in the field.
Biggest inspirations
DJ Jarbo’s father, Omar Jarbo, is one of his greatest influences. Omar is a famous musician who plays the “zorna,” which is a woodwind instrument. He has worked with many people and done many events, specifically Chaldean weddings and big gatherings, since about 1960, and has been sponsored in a ton of magazines. DJ Jarbo’s favorite experience from a gig was when he did his first celebrity event around 2014 at Tonic Nightclub located in Pontiac, Michigan. They were known to bring out a lot of big names and celebs at the time, and he was fortunate enough to play for Ty Dolla Sign while he was just hanging out and partying with him in his booth.
